The education market is internationalized at a high pace. Demand for qualified education services are growing amidst an increasingly larger global middle class. Sweden has favorable conditions for exporting education services. In this report, Dr. Nima Sanandaji shows that the reasons for these conditions are historically structural: many of Sweden’s most successful export sectors have grown up close to the public sector. This includes telecom, pharmaceuticals, and some parts of the engineering industry.
